Hernan Gene (1960)
After having gathered experience in comercial theatre, cinema and television at the end of the 70’s and early 80’s, and having had different and very prestigius teachers, in 1984 he began to examine the field of the Theatre Clown. He founded, along with some other colleagues, the group EL CLÚ DEL CLAUN and also afterwards the group called LA CUADRILLA.
From 1992 on gradually began to go off from the exclusively comical theater and began looking for new ways of expression. He followe several seminars with the Odin Teatret and some training workshops with Guillermo Angelelli. This way, wich lead him to Indonesia looking for new forms of theatre, enden in 1997 when it took place his third meeting with the group UR TEATRO fron the Basque Country in Spain, to wich he joined for the performance of “leve’s Labour’s Lost” by W. Shakespeare. He was at the last ISTA (International School of Theatre Anthropology) directed by Eugenio Barba in Bielefeld, Germany, in 2000.
He has been working as a teacher since 1985 and from then on he has given several workshops both in America and Europe. Since 1999 he is teaching Clown at the MUNICIPAL CIRCO’ SCHOOL OF ALCORCÓN and teaching Theatre, clown and dramaturgy on at the CIRCUS’ SCHOOL CARAMPA where he is also the Artistic Director.
Hernan directed the shows EX AEQUO and GOOSE for La Cavalcade en Scène.
